CBSE Board Exam 2022 Pattern, Syllabus Revised: Highlights

 

CBSE has announced a change in the exam pattern for the 2022 board exams. The board will conduct exams in two terms for the 2021-22 batch of Class 10 and Class 12 students.

 3. Classes IX-X: 

 Internal Assessment (throughout the year-irrespective of Term I and II) would include the 3 periodic tests, student enrichment, portfolio and practical work/ speaking listening activities/ project.

 4. Classes XI-XII: 

Internal Assessment (throughout the year-irrespective of Term I and II) would include end of topic or unit tests/ exploratory activities/ practicals/ projects. 

For class 11-12, the internal assessment throughout the year will consist of unit tests, exploratory activities/practical/projects based on two conditions.

 5.CBSE will facilitate schools to upload marks of Internal Assessment on the CBSE IT platform. 

We will facilitate CBSE IT Platform to school for uploading marks based on internal assessment. CBSE said, this IT platform makes uploading of marks easier and easier.

 6. The Board will organize Term I Examination in a flexible schedule to be conducted between November-December 2021 

At the end of the first term, the Board will conduct Term I examinations between November-December 2021 in a flexible schedule with a window duration of 4-8 weeks for schools located in different parts of the country and abroad. The dates for the conduct of examinations will be notified later.

 7. Question Paper 

The Question Paper will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) including case-based MCQs and MCQs on assertion-reasoning type. Duration of test 
will be 90 minutes and it will cover only the rationalized syllabus of Term I only (i.e. approx. 50% of the entire syllabus)

 8. Question Papers will be sent by the CBSE to schools along with marking scheme. ***

 9. Term I 

The board will provide a flexible schedule of 4 to 8 weeks in November-December 2021. The question papers and dates will be notified by the board. Schools can conduct these exams either offline or online.

 10. Term I Exam 

Term I question paper will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) which will also include case-based MCQs and MCQs on Assertion-reasoning type. The exam will be of 90 minutes duration as opposed to 3 hours duration and will consist of only 50% of the prescribed syllabus.

 11. Term II 

 the Board would organize Term II or Year end Examination based on the rationalized syllabus of Term II only (i.e. approximately 50% of the entire syllabus). 
10. This examination would be held around March-April 2022

 12. Term II Exam 

Term II exam will be conducted for 50% of the syllabus and will be of 2 hours duration. The paper will have subjective questions. If the situation is not favorable, the exam will also be conducted in MCQ format. Term II is proposed in March-April 2022. The paper will be of 2 hours duration and have questions of different formats (case-based/ situation based, open ended- short answer/ long answer type).

 13. In case the situation is not conducive for normal descriptive examination a 90 minute MCQ based exam will be conducted at the end of the Term II also.
